Successful Treatment of Acute Aluminum Phosphide Poisoning by Aloe Vera Syrup: A Case Report

Background: Aluminum phosphide, known as rice pill in Iran, is a very effective pesticide for commercial and industrial ‎use. The high lethality of phosphide due to Phosphine gas (PH3) which released by its ‎reaction with water. One the most important properties aluminum despite being ‎very lethal almost all living creatures, still makes it one widely used pesticides, ‎high yield, ease use, and, importantly, absence residues products after application; while ‎its exposure human body associated mortality.‎ Case Presentation: In this article, we reported successful treatment pill-induced poisoning 30-year-old man using novel approach. Accordingly, sodium bicarbonate (50 ccs) aloe vera syrup (1-2 L), followed olive oil (150 cc was given every 2 hours). Conclusion: While numerous studies recommend observing patient conditions approach, our presented case experience treating acute poisoning.
